Duval County Schools Freedom Award

Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland will present six Freedom Awards to the following schools for the 2009 Countywide Student Voter Registration Drive:

Sandalwood High School on Tuesday, April 21st at noon, Douglas Anderson School of the Arts will be honored on Wednesday, April 22 at 1:00 p.m., Duncan U. Fletcher High School on Thursday, April 23rd at noon, and Nathan B. Forrest High School on Monday, April 27th at 1:30 p.m.

The private schools winners are Foundation Academy and Providence School of Jacksonville.  Providence School is scheduled to be presented with the Freedom Award on Thursday, April 23rd at 1:15 p.m.  and Foundation Academy will be honored on Monday, April 27th at 8:30 a.m. Both private schools have claimed the Freedom Award for a second year.

A total of 38 Duval County schools (public and private high schools, colleges, universities, and some technical schools) participated and a final number of 4,508 students registered to vote during this year’s countywide student voter registration drive.
