Everyday is a momentum builder for the Duval UDL. Today, I had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Darrin Thomas, of Thomas Media, parent company of the Black Pages USA SOUTH. The CEO of several publications, mega conferences was extremely impressed with the Duval Urban Debate League. So much so that he is interested in hosting a public debate forum at the next Black Expo Florida affair October 9th in Jacksonville, Florida.

Imagine that. A life telecast of our great debaters addressing topics on economics, business, and entrepreneurship. I’m sure this is going to be very interesting.

We will be sure to report updates on future developments of the Duval Urban Debate League.

Read more on the Duval UDL at the Kuumba Festival of Florida in August, www.kuumbafestivalfl.org.

“If the 6.2 million dropouts were all educated and gainfully employed, the economic attraction of the United States to would-be undocumented aliens would plunge. As it is, 69 percent of black dropouts are unemployed; and, the corresponding percentages for whites and Hispanics is 54 and 47, respectfully. The report attributed the oddity of the lowest rate for Hispanics to the fact that many illegal immigrants included in that category compete successfully for jobs with native-born youths.

There is no better investment in the United States at present than high schools targeting high school dropouts for enrollment and graduation.
